Organized by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.c1718cs.ucla.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">UCLA Center for 17<sup>th<\/sup> and 18<sup>th<\/sup> Century Studies<\/a>, the series is distinguished by the excellence of its musical talent and the unique venue that hosts its concerts; namely, the ornate drawing room of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.humnet.ucla.edu\/humnet\/clarklib\/\" target=\"_blank\">William Andrews Clark Memorial Library<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This December, the Clark will showcase the talent of versatile American violinist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rachelbartonpine.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Rachel Barton Pine<\/a>. A Chicago native, Pine has appeared as soloist with many of the world&#8217;s most prestigious orchestras under conductors such as Charles Dutoit, Zubin Mehta, Neeme J&auml;rvi, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Marin_Alsop\"><span style=\"color: windowtext;\">Marin Alsop<\/span><\/a>, Semyon Bychkov, Pl&aacute;cido Domingo and Jos&eacute; Serebrier. She is also known for her active recording career and performed on sixteen critically acclaimed albums for the Cedille, Dorian, and Cacophony labels.
