\nEver heard of Automata? If not, take note, because this important non-profit arts organization\u00a0curates a wide range of programs that \u201cseek to radically redefine and re-contextualize the notion of object performance, locating it at the intersection of contemporary performance, media, visual art, sound art and experimental writing.\u201d<\/p>\n

This weekend Automata<\/a> has scheduled three different programs that really piqued my interest. If you are looking for something to do this weekend that is a little out of the ordinary, consider one or more of these events.<\/p>\n

Hear, Hear and Hear<\/h5>\n

A unique evening of adventurous music by five master\u00a0improvisers.<\/p>\n

Using found objects, toys, voice, and traditional instruments, these five idiosyncratic master musicians create an experience of\u00a0“spontaneous music-making at it’s most free-range, spirited and delightful.” \u00a0(Open Gate)<\/p>\n

The performances at Automata are in celebration of the quintet’s new CD: Here, Here, and Here.<\/p>\n
