Cinespia<\/a> and the newly opened Ace Hotel<\/a> in downtown LA are co-hosting a series of films in the recently rehabbed United Artists Theater (1927). To kick things off, they\u2019ll present the Los Angeles premiere of Under the Skin<\/a> (2014, 108 mins), the new sci-fi thriller starring Scarlett Johannsen that adapts Michel Faber’s 2000 novel about an extraterrestrial stalker. Director Jonathan Glazer (Sexy Beast, Birth) and composer Mica Levi will be present in-person to discuss the making of the film , which Peter Bradshaw<\/a> of The Guardian calls \u201c\u2026visually stunning and deeply disturbing: very freaky, very scary and very erotic.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n While I\u2019m really looking forward to seeing this film, I\u2019m equally as excited to get inside the United Artists Theater, since it\u2019s been closed to the public for many decades. Designed by architect C. Howard Crane<\/a> and opened on December 26, 1927, the theater is distinguished by several notable features, such as murals depicting the original UA founders \u2013 Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks, Charlie Chaplin and D. W.
