Weaving together chocolate, art and history, Maite Gomez-Rejon, founder of <a href=\"http:\/\/artbites.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">ArtBites<\/a>, will take you on a culinary journey that traces the history of chocolate as seen through LACMA&#8217;s collection of ancient Mayan, colonial and European art. The group will then head to <a href=\"http:\/\/loteriagrill.com\/hollywood\" target=\"_blank\">Loteria Grill Hollywood<\/a> to enjoy a delicious three-course lunch prepared by Executive Chef Jimmy Shaw, complete with Mexican hot chocolate and churros.\u00a0Yum!!<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>While I have never spent Valentine\u2019s Day in quite this way, I\u2019m confident that Gomez-Rejon will leave you and your partner feeling thankful that she has devised such a creative way to bring together food and art in the spirit of the holiday. I say that because a group of friends and I participated in an ArtBites tour and culinary experience several years ago. Needless to say, everyone had a great time. We learned about the history of ancient Greece through artworks in LACMA\u2019s collection and followed that up by sharing an exceptionally tasty meal made with ingredients from the Mediterranean region. We all went home will full bellies and a tad more knowledgeable than we were before.
