Make a Personal Statement with a Self-Designed Wearable Button

Promotional buttons have a long history in the United States. They’ve been used in political campaigns, as promotional tools for organizations and causes, and as a means to deliver some other personal statement or message.

Wearable Buttons

Now the Architecture and Design Museum Los Angeles is hosting a button design workshop so that you can learn how to craft your own buttons that you can wear proudly around town or give as a gift. Designers Haven Lin-Kirk and Osvaldo Trujillo of the USC Roski School of Art and Design will walk you through the steps designers use to:

  • Identify the idea in your head
  • Get it out of your head and onto paper
  • Review your design (a critique with staff and participants)
  • Create an eye-catching design
  • (And finally) manufacture your button!

This is a family-friendly event open to all ages (but best for 8 and up)
