Have You Met VuHaus Yet? Curated Video From KCRW and Other Leading Public Radio Stations

KCRW has long been one of my go to sources to hear music by emerging and established artists. I highly value the distinctive taste of the station’s DJs and regularly listen to their various programs on air, online and on my mobile phone.

Now KCRW and other influential public radio stations have launched a music streaming service called VuHaus. While the collaboration isn’t a complete surprise given the leading role these stations play on the national music scene, what did get my attention is that this venture focuses on video programming rather than audio.

KCRW_roundlogoKCRW and its other partners, including KEXP in Seattle, KTBG The Bridge in Kansas City, KUTX in Austin, WFUV in New York City, and WXPN in Philadelphia, are using VuHaus to increase exposure of the rich video content that they already generate, such as performance videos and interviews, as well as live concerts and events. The service also includes “…unique video channels defined by nationally curated playlists, local market playlists, and custom playlists from artists and others.”

I started exploring this exciting service last night and have downloaded the iPhone app, so now I can access the service when I’m out and about. I haven’t watched this many music videos in one siting since the heyday of MTV!

I think you’ll agree that music fans have a lot to appreciate with this new entrant on the music scene. And the best thing – it’s only going to get better as the stations add more content.
