de LaB is one of the most consistently creative design oriented organizations in Los Angeles. Its co-founders, Alissa Walker and Haily Zaki, are particularly adroit at coming up with engaging events that put you in touch with the city’s history, its vibrant east-side design community and noteworthy projects – both well known and undiscovered. It therefore came as little surprise to me that the de LaB team has found a fun way to answer an interesting question: namely, what happens when architects design their own homes?
For those who are curious to see first hand how a select group of local architects have responded to the challenge of designing for their own families, de LaB has organized a self-guided tour of five houses.
Projects include:
- Paige Residence by Tom Marble
- Murnane Residence by Project M Plus
- Elysian House by Bunch Design
- Elysian Cottage by Bunch Design
- Buzz Court by Heyday Partnership
Following the tour you can join de LaB and other participants at their favorite new watering hole, The Greyhound. They’ll have cocktails and specials for de LaBbers!
The Greyhound Bar & Grill is located at 5570 N. Figueroa Street Los Angeles
