13th Annual LA River Ride

LARiverRide

Imagine a completely car-free bike highway running right through the middle of Los Angeles, from Canoga Park to Long Beach. That vision is already becoming a reality and significant segments of the LA River Bikeway exist today, but there is more work to do before all 51 miles of this exciting project are completed.

Enter the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition (LACBC), a nonprofit organization that seeks “…to improve the built environment in Los Angeles so that all cyclists–low-income, commuter, recreational, families, and women–can safely navigate LA County streets.” Every year the LACBC organizes the LA River Ride to support the organization’s collaborative campaign to complete all 51 miles of LA River Bikeway by the year 2020. The event also raises awareness about the LACBC’s mission and provides Angelenos an opportunity to enjoy biking with family and friends.

The event is organized so that there is a ride for every level, so there is no excuse not to participate. If you’re looking for a fun way to spend time on your bike and support a worthy cause, the LA River Ride is for you.
