String Theory Live with Special Guest David Poe

Each week I receive dozens of press releases and emails about upcoming events around the Los Angeles area. Many of these happenings sound enticing, but it’s the rare event that truly captures my attention and stands out from the crowd. The upcoming performance of String Theory at the Ford Amphitheatre is one that jumped out at me.

String Theory is an LA based performance ensemble that transforms architecture and environments into giant musical instruments at venues around the world. The ensemble was founded by instrument designer/builder and composer, Luke Rothschild; choreographer/director, Holly Rothschild; and cellist, composer, Joseph Harvey.

According to Luke Rothchild, we will “…send the strings of our Curve Harp over 100 feet from the stage to the back of the outdoor amphitheatre, enveloping the audience in a shimmering canopy of sound. A full band with strings, horns, drums and vocals accompany the Harp.”

In addition to the Curve Harp, audience members will hear original music, as well as songs by special guest David Poe. They will also watch dance and video projections, making this an immersive, multi-media, sonic-visual performance tailor made for the Ford Amphitheatre.

If you want to experience first hand one of the highly innovative groups of artists working in Los Angeles today, performing in a great local venue, this show is for you. Ticket information and other related details are listed below.
